Professor Mateus Cecilio Gerolamo

Mateus Gerolamo is Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), the best university in Latin America. He graduated in Production Engineering in 2000 from the São Carlos School Engineering (EESC-USP), where he completed his master’s (2003) and doctorate (2007) in Production Engineering on the topics of Improvement Management and Organizational Change, and Performance Management in Regional Small and Medium Business Cooperation Networks (SMEs). Between 2006 and 2007 he completed a sandwich doctorate at the Berlin Institute of Technology (TUB). The same place where he obtained postdoctoral experience between 2007 and 2008 working in the are of Sustainability. He has 20 years of experience in research, teaching and consulting projects. He acted as coordinator of a cooperation network of SMEs in a project financed by SEBRAE / FIESP (2005).

He taught the disciplines of Production and Operations Administration and Quality Management for the Business Administration course (between 2003 and 2005). He carried out consulting projects in the areas of Quality Management and Production Management for SMEs. Between 2008 and 2010 he was a consultant in Supply Chain Management for Axia Value Chain (a company later merged into Ernst & Young). Since 2010 he is a Professor in the Department of Production Engineering at EESC-USP. Engages in pedagogical and administrative activities related to the São Carlos School of Engineering (USP) and its respective engineering courses. He also participates in social and outreach activities coordinating teams of students such as, for example, EESC Jr, Enactus and Projeto Rondon. Has published books in the areas of Quality Management and Project Management. He has published several articles and is a reviewer of national and international academic journals. CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certificate by APICS (The Association for Operations Management) and CTT (Cultural Transformation Tools) certificate by Barrett Values Center. 

Prof. Gerolamo current research focuses on the need of deal with soft aspects such leadership and organizational culture in transition journeys towards the new business trends such as Innovation, Industry 4.0, Digital Transformation, Circular Economy, and Sustainability
