Analysis of best organizational culture practices in the transition to the Product- as-a-Service (PaaS) business model.

Abstract: It is evident in today’s business world that there is a strong trend of change in most corporations as a consequence of the expanding pressure to analyze the social and environmental impact generated by the manufacturing of a product or the offering of a given service. To enforce cultural change is not an easy task: it implies reconditioning people’s behavior and it is a substantial challenge in the Change Management context. This study intends to understand the reality of companies that have already transitioned or are currently transitioning to the Product as a Service (PaaS) business model – a business model considered circular and at the same time economically viable. The Project aim understand too how these cultural changes occur within organizations and are actually managed during the transition. Through an exploratory analysis of the literature, this study intends to understand which are the best practices in this process, listing them. A field research will also be carried out, in organizations to be defined, in which, through benchmarking, the best practices adopted by companies, in terms of organizational culture, will be listed and then compared to those obtained through the literature. Thus, it is expected to assist other organizations to make the servitization toward PaaS business model, through the adoption of best practices, encouraging them to manage change processes, contributing to the topic in the academic field and developing the topic within the research group.
